Our Board of Directors is passionate about serving others by sharing a message to inspire, shining a light to encourage and caring for others. We have varied experiences that consist of integrity and clearly defined strategies for ethical leadership and management. Over the coming weeks and months we will be adding to our Board for the purpose of advancement of the mission of One Day Living.
Executive Director
Esther Hughes is the founder of One Day Living. She brings with her varying experiences that have lead to fulfilling the vision of building One Day Living into an organization that assists working families with daily necessities while undergoing treatment for a life-threatening illness. Her passion comes from a personal battle with breast cancer and the effects the journey had on her young family. She is an author, speaker, entrepreneur, wife, mother, daughter and sister. After spending many years in corporate America, she left that world behind to pursue her passion of writing and sharing a life-changing message to encourage and inspire others toward recognizing that life is a gift from God and each day should be lived fully, joyfully and responsibly. Esther brings vision, leadership and a whole lot of determination to encourage others undergoing life-changing situations. She is a graduate of Eastern University with a BA in Organizational Management; a member of Toastmasters International, Network Now, CLASS, Endorsed Ministry Guide, Women Speakers and Grace Point Church. She has volunteered for various churches and organizations such as the American Cancer Society and Doylestown Hospital Cancer Center.
Secretary
Teresa M. Berger, MBA is an entrepreneur and founder of Innovate Services, a group specializing in public relations and generating buzz for small companies. Teresa brings organization, communication and marketing skills to One Day Living. She is an accomplished business women and a member of Network Now, Women’s Business Forum and International Virtual Assistants Association. She has been a volunteer for many organizations including Cradles to Crayons, MoxieMoms and the American Cancer Society. Her passion to help people undergoing life-threatening illnesses comes from the experience she and her family had as her mother battled leiomyosarcoma (a rare form of blood cancer). Because of this ordeal, Teresa donates a portion of Innovate Services proceeds to the National Leiomyosarcoma Foundation in memory of her mother.
Treasurer
Cheryl Tavano brings vast business knowledge and experience to One Day Living. She has been associated with a Big 4 professional services firm for the past twenty years. As a former CPA and current Senior Human Resources Professional, she brings a wealth of experience, ranging from auditing and accounting, project management, leadership, to human resources and personal coaching and mentoring. Her passion to help people comes from the experiences she has had and the blessings she experiences daily. She has been a long time volunteer for the Girl Scouts, and has volunteered for other organizations such as the American Cancer Society, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and the United Way.
Consultant
Daniel Hughes is a successful entrepreneur and graduate of Temple University with a BS in Accounting. He worked as an analyst and consultant for two Big Six Accounting firms before he started his own consulting practice in 1998. He went on to develop a software company, Claritee Group, a business intelligence firm specializing in software for medical practices. He has extensive experience as a project manager for software implementations and actively providing solutions to large financial organizations. His skills bring full disclosure and high ethical practices to accounting practices, project management, business plan development and visionary leadership.
